PDX AIRPORT OPERATIONS DESIGN PROCESS
My Brother-in-Law, who works at the Portland International Airport, asked if I could update their logo to better reflect the new concourse design. After the initial designs were sent, I was given some feedback regarding the airplane, control tower, and font. I adjusted the font and remade the airplane and tower with a more refined look. Modeling the airplane to look like a Boeing 747.
PHASE 1
For 2D graphics I like to start with sketches. This is often the most efficient way to get ideas down on paper. A quick and dirty ideation process like sketching, eliminates our tendency to want to make things perfect.
PHASE 2
This is the stage where I refine the sketches in the computer. Which sometimes means I am combining elements from multiple sketches into one concept.
PHASE 3
Lastly, here I am making final changes based on feedback and sending out for review and approval.
